American Airlines to offer happy hour on select flights

American Airlines will be hosting happy hour on certain flights during the month of December.

The airline will be offering cocktails, beer and wine for $5 on internal flights USA, and international flights to Canada, Caribbean and Mexico scheduled to depart between 5 p.m. and 5:59 p.m. The $5 price represents a discount of $1 on beer and $2 on liquor and wine. Passengers on American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection flights can take advantage of the promotion, which lasts the duration of the flight.

Other airlines have been getting creative with their onboard drink offerings. Earlier this month, United Airlines introduced a new cocktail, the Sunrise Sunset, which contains cranberry apple juice, orange juice, lime and vodka. The cocktail costs $7 for passengers in economy class.

Delta Air Lines also introduced two new in-flight cocktails in November: The Bourbon Breeze, which is similar to United’s Sunrise Sunset but swaps vodka for bourbon, and the Skyy Quench, which mixes Skyy Vodka with Fresca. Delta’s specialty cocktails also cost $7.
