Cunard's latest ship, the 92,000-tonne Queen Elizabeth, set off on its 13-day maiden voyage yesterday after being officially named by the Queen.

The Italian-built vessel was officially named by the Queen at its home port of Southampton on Monday.

It will sail to the Canary Islands for its first passenger cruise. Ports of call are at Vigo, Lisbon, Seville, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, La Palma and Madeira. The first voyage was sold out in a record 29 minutes.
