US Airways will commence nonstop service in May from Charlotte to Madrid, Spain, and Dublin, Ireland, raising the number of European destinations it serves from the Queen City to six.
The new flights will operate daily but only in the summer, according to the Tempe, Ariz-based airline.
Madrid service is scheduled for May 4 through Oct. 29. The airline will use a Boeing 767-200, which has 204 seats.
The flights from Charlotte to Dublin will begin May 6 and end Sept. 30 on Boeing planes with seating for 176.
US Airways operates nonstop flights from Charlotte to London, Frankfurt, Paris and Rome, as well as 25 other international destinations, mostly in the Caribbean. US Airways partner airline Lufthansa flies daily from Charlotte to Munich.
