Dallas-based Southwest Airlines announced Tuesday it’s rolling out fares as low as $25 on one-way tickets to select cities.
The low-cost carrier said the special rates are based on length of the flight. Customers traveling up to 375 miles can travel for $25 one-way. Fares between 375 and 549 miles will cost $50 one-way, and fares in the 550 to 990-mile range are going for $75 one-way.
A one-way fare of more than 1,000 miles costs $100.
The promotional fares are available for purchase through Thursday, for travel between Dec. 2-16 and Jan. 5 through Feb. 10.

Carnival adds a fun zone to their Miami terminal
Carnival Cruise Lines has installed a new facility at Port of Miami cruise terminal, designed for families with children who are waiting to board their cruise.The line has added the first-ever children’s “Fun Zone” to their Miami terminal, providing a welcome diversion for families with a host of toys, games and activities.
Located on the upper level of the terminal, the “Fun Zone” includes indoor playground equipment, video game consoles, board games, coloring books and more.
Carnival plans on adding “Fun Zones” to other year-round homeports in the future.

Allegiant Air to offer Wichita-Phoenix flights
Allegiant Air announced Wednesday it will begin service between Wichita Mid-Continent Airport and Phoenix-Mesa starting November 20, 2009.The low-cost carrier will operate the new route twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, with fares starting as low as $59.99 one way.
Allegiant Air currently flies to 71 destinations throughout the United States. The airline added daily flights to Las Vegas from Wichita in 2003.
