An extraordinary optical device called a “telectroscope” has been installed at both ends of the Atlantic Ocean which miraculously allows people to see right through the Earth from New York City to London and vice versa.
In May-June, artist Paul St George is exhibiting outdoor interactive video installations in a fanciful simulated Telectroscope. This original piece of art involves two giant copper and wood lenses pushing their way out of the earth at the Brooklyn Bridge and at the London City Hall. The artist claims a giant tunnel connects them ... and the excited crowds peering and waving at each other across the Atlantic.
